Rules & Regulations

A quick summary of academic, hostel, and admission rules at Imperial College of Nursing. The full terms are in the admission affidavit and prospectus you sign at admission.

Admission

  • Admission follows the common entrance test run by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Examination Board, under guidelines from the Government of Jharkhand, the Indian Nursing Council, and the Jharkhand Nurses Registration Council.
  • Tuition and other fees are due at the time of admission.
  • Every student must submit a notarized admission affidavit at admission, along with attested copies of certificates and testimonials.
  • The college can cancel an admission over poor academic performance, low attendance, or disciplinary issues.
  • Original documents submitted at admission stay with the college until the course is completed.

Attendance & Examinations

  • Students need at least 75% attendance in classes and practicals to sit for exams.
  • Progress is tracked continuously through the course, not just at final exams.
  • Backlog papers carry a per-paper fee, as set by the university, board, or council.

Fees

  • Fees, once paid, are not refunded under any circumstances.
  • Leaving mid-course doesn't reduce what's owed — the full remaining fee is still payable.
  • Dues must be cleared before the next academic year or quarter begins, to stay eligible for exams and promotion.
  • Scholarship funds can only go toward academic fees, and must be returned if misapplied or the scholarship is discontinued.

Residence & Hostel

  • The B.Sc Nursing course is fully residential — students stay in their allotted hostel room for the course duration unless specifically exempted.
  • Personal belongings are the student's own responsibility; the college isn't liable for loss from theft, fire, or similar causes.
  • Room changes need prior approval, and rooms must stay open for routine inspection and maintenance.
  • Personal attendants, pets, and restricted electrical appliances aren't allowed in the hostel.
  • All hostel residents share a single, common mess.

Conduct & Discipline

  • Students are expected to behave respectfully and stay disciplined, on campus and off.
  • Ragging in any form is banned outright and can lead to expulsion, following Supreme Court guidelines.
  • Damage to college property from negligence is the responsible student's liability.
  • A proper uniform and neat appearance are expected during academic and clinical hours.
