Basic B.Sc Nursing is a 4-year, 8-semester undergraduate degree programme regulated by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) under its Revised Regulations and Curriculum (effective July 2021). It combines classroom learning, skill-lab practice, and clinical postings, concluding with a full internship semester.

Eligibility
- 10+2 passed with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English, with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks, as per Indian Nursing Council norms.
- Candidates from recognized boards (CBSE, ICSE, state boards, or equivalent) are eligible; NIOS candidates with 45% marks are also accepted.
- Minimum age 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year.
- Category-based marks relaxation may apply as per the applicable state admission notification.
- Candidate must be medically fit for the course.
- In Jharkhand, admission is through the entrance exam and counselling conducted by JCECEB; some cycles may additionally require NEET-UG as per the prevailing state or INC notification for that year.
